Azerbaijan plans to build the world's tallest building at 3,645 feet. An Azerbaijani businessman plans to build it on an artificial island. The new building will be 1,050 metres high with 189 floors. Azerbaijan Tower will be 200 metres higher than Burj Khalif, the world's current tallest building. They have already held talks with the companies that built Burj Khalifa. The building is planned on Khazar Islands, an artificial islands to be constructed southwest of Baku. Construction of Azerbaijan Tower will start in 2016 and finish in 2018-19.
